Day Trips from Bangkok — Who We Are
We're not a travel agency and we're not a blog written by an AI that visited Thailand once. We're a small team that's spent time in these destinations, looked at what's actually worth doing, and put together honest guides for people who don't want to waste a day of their holiday.
Why we exist
Most travel content on the internet is written to earn commissions, not to help you. A "top 10 Ayutthaya tours" article is usually a listicle with affiliate links to whichever tour pays the highest referral fee — not the one that actually matches your interests, budget, or travel style.
The photos were taken when the temple was empty. The reviews are cherry-picked. The pricing is outdated the moment the article is published. And by the time you arrive, you've already committed to a tour that wasn't what you expected.
We started Day Trips from Bangkok because we were tired of that. We wanted to build something we would actually use ourselves — a resource that tells you which tours are worth booking, which are overpriced, and what to expect on the day so nothing catches you off guard.
What we do
For every destination, we look at every tour available on Viator — the largest marketplace for guided activities in Thailand — and research the ones that are actually popular and well-reviewed. We don't cover everything. We cover what's worth your time.
Our guides cover the logistics: how to get there, how long it takes, what the day looks like in practice. We also include honest assessments of whether a particular tour is good value — because the most expensive option isn't always the best, and the cheapest is often the most frustrating.
We update our guides when pricing changes significantly or when a tour's quality drops. We're not a static site that was built once and forgotten — we revisit our content when we hear things have changed.
How we make money
We include affiliate links to Viator throughout our guides. When you book through one of our links, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you'd booked directly.
We only recommend tours we genuinely think are worth booking. We don't accept payment to feature or promote specific products, and we don't hide tours that don't have affiliate links. If a tour is the best option for a given situation, we recommend it — whether or not it earns us anything.
Our affiliate relationship with Viator is disclosed on every page that contains product links. You can read the full disclosure in our Terms of Service.
Who this site is for
Our guides are written for independent travellers who want specifics — not marketing copy. If you want to know what a tour actually involves, what the guides are like, and whether it's worth booking over a DIY alternative, you'll find that here.
If you're looking for a package deal, airport transfers, or hotel bookings, we're not the right resource. We focus exclusively on day trips from Bangkok that you book through Viator.
